Chris has been animating for as long as he can remember. His passion for animation began at the early age of 12 when he got detention for making flipbooks in the margins of “Grapes of Wrath”…it happened to be the library’s copy. Back then, Walt Disney was the only thing people thought of when animation was mentioned. After high school, Chris attended the up and coming animation school Ringling School of Art and Design in Florida. Four Years later, in 1995 he graduated with a BFA in Computer Animation with a minor in Photography at the ripe old age of 20. After which, he took a job animating broadcast design for tv commercials…yes “FLYING TEXT”, which simply wasn’t creative enough and quickly moved onto games. Two launch titles for the PS1 later, as well as a little game known as Duke Nukem, Chris knew working in video games was the place for him. Finally all those years of playing games on his Apple 2e paid off! In 1997 he moved to California, to Crystal Dynamics where he worked as an animator and lead on multiple projects, including the Gex Franchise and Blood Omen. Then in 2002 he left to work for Electronic Arts where he was the Animation Director on The Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers, LOTR: Return of the King, The Godfather, and the Dead Space franchise. In August of 2009 he joined Sledgehammer Games as the Director of Animation to work on his favorite franchise, Call of Duty. He believes the best way to build the games of tomorrow is in an environment full of laughter, fun and CONSTANT innovation.
